E-commerce Website Development in Oman

We build online stores for Omani brands that take OmanNet and wallet payments, cash on delivery and Arabic customers from day one, then help you grow them with SEO and ads from our team in Muscat.

Built for Oman

  • OmanNet and wallet payments
  • Cash on delivery
  • Arabic and English checkout
  • Local delivery integration
What we build

An online store that works the Omani way

Local payment gateways

Checkout connected to a payment provider licensed in Oman, such as OmanNet through your bank, Thawani or AmwalPay, alongside card payments where available.

Cash on delivery that does not hurt you

COD with order confirmation over WhatsApp, so fewer orders are refused at the door and your courier costs stay under control.

Arabic and English store

A real Arabic store with right-to-left layout, Arabic product content and an Arabic checkout, not a translation plugin bolted on at the end.

Delivery across Oman

Shipping zones for Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, Nizwa and the rest of the Sultanate, with courier integration and tracking messages for customers.

Shopify, WooCommerce or Next.js

We recommend the platform that fits your catalogue, budget and team. Shopify for speed, WooCommerce for control, Next.js for custom headless builds.

SEO-ready from launch

Fast pages, clean URLs, product schema and bilingual meta data, so your products can start ranking on Google in Oman instead of waiting for a rebuild.

Selling online in Oman

Compliance built into the store

Oman’s e-commerce regulation (Ministerial Decision 499/2023) requires a licence before practising e-commerce, and asks online stores to show key information to shoppers. We build those details into your store from day one: your licence and commercial registration details, tax number where you are VAT-registered, a clear return and exchange policy, and a complaint and contact route.

The regulation also expects online payments to go through a bank or payment provider licensed in Oman, so we set up your checkout with one. Rules and fees change, so we always confirm the current requirements with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and your payment provider before launch. Read our step-by-step guide to starting an e-commerce business in Oman for the full checklist.

  4. Launch and test

Real test orders through every payment method before the store goes live.

  5. Grow

SEO, Google and Meta ads, and Amazon or Noon if you want more channels. Same team, one report.

FAQs

E-commerce website questions in Oman

How much does an e-commerce website cost in Oman?

It depends on the platform, number of products, languages, payment and delivery integrations, and how much custom design you need. A Shopify store with a ready theme costs far less than a custom Next.js build. We give a fixed written quote after a free planning call.

Which payment gateways work for online stores in Oman?

Common options include OmanNet through an Omani bank, and providers such as Thawani and AmwalPay. Shopify Payments is not available in Oman, so Shopify stores use a third-party gateway. We help you compare fees and set up the one that fits your platform.

Do I need a licence to sell online in Oman?

Yes. Under Ministerial Decision 499/2023 you need an e-commerce licence before selling online, usually linked to your commercial registration. Check the current requirements with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; we can guide you through the steps but we do not give legal advice.

Shopify or WooCommerce for an Omani store?

Shopify is faster to launch and easier to run. WooCommerce gives more control and no platform fees but needs hosting and maintenance. We explain the trade-offs in our Shopify vs WooCommerce guide.

Can you also sell my products on Amazon and Noon?

Yes. Many Omani brands sell on their own store and on Amazon.ae and Noon. See our Amazon and Noon services for Omani brands.
